What SheetRank is
A practice platform built for analysts, associates, and MBA candidates preparing for REPE, PE, and IB interviews. You open a real deal, build the model yourself in a blank spreadsheet grid, and a grading engine checks every formula against an answer key the moment you click away from the cell.
Nothing here is a fill-in-the-blank template. The grid starts empty, the structure is yours to get right or wrong, and each submission is re-run against scenarios you never saw while building it, which is the part that tends to separate a model that works from one that was tuned to a single set of inputs.
How the grading engine decides
Grading is deterministic and the rules are published rather than discretionary. A target cell has to resolve through a formula that references its precedents, so a correct number typed in by hand is rejected. Values are then checked inside a fixed band:
- Currency outputs
- ±$1
- IRR and rate outputs
- ±0.1%
- Multiples
- ±0.05x
When something is wrong, the engine traces the failure back through the dependency graph to the cell that actually caused it, rather than only flagging the output that happened to be off.
