For Instructors

Free for you. Priced like a textbook for them.

Assign the same institutional LBO, REPE, and DCF models working analysts drill on. Every submission is graded against a real answer key. Running the class costs your department nothing. Students pay for their own access, the way they'd buy course materials.

01How It's Priced

You teach for free. Students buy access.

Nothing is ever billed to you or your department. Students pay for their own subscription individually, the same way they'd buy a required textbook, not a site license your program has to approve or fund.

You, the instructor

$0forever

Creating and running a class costs nothing. No card required, no seat count that changes the price.

  • Unlimited students, unlimited assignments, forever
  • Full gradebook, roster, and per-student skill breakdown
  • Submission review, flagging, and private instructor notes
  • Canvas / LMS launch and Canvas gradebook sync

Your students

$17.50/mo with .edu

$35/mo (or $290/yr) at full price, automatically 50% off once a student verifies a .edu email. $145/yr with the discount.

Billed to the student, not you. Same as a textbook or a case-prep bundle, except cheaper than most and it grades itself.

  • Every REPE, PE, and IB deal in the library
  • Every difficulty mode, including VP Socratic & Superday
  • Speed Sessions, the Challenge Board, and the leaderboard
  • Renews monthly or annually, cancel anytime, no contract

Every account starts on Free: one full deal, Beginner mode, and complete Academy access, so a student can build a real model and see exactly what your class will use before spending anything.

Want the department to pay instead, so students don't have to?

Enterprise licenses the whole program: unlimited seats, no per-student billing, admin dashboards, and SSO.

02Instructor Toolset

Run a real modeling class, not a worksheet packet.

None of this is gated behind a paid tier for you. The whole instructor toolset is included the moment you create a class. Students still need Pro for the full Deal Flow library beyond the free deal (Project Sunbelt); Academy remains available on Free.

Roster via join code

Create a class and get a short code. Students enter it once, no manual roster upload, no CSV of emails to keep in sync.

Launch straight from Canvas

Add SheetRank as an LTI 1.3 assignment and students launch it from inside your course, already signed in. Deal scores post back to your Canvas gradebook automatically.

Assignments with due dates

Assign any Deal Flow model or Academy course to the whole class, with a due date and an optional late-penalty percentage applied automatically to a late pass.

A gradebook that fills itself in

Every student's status per assignment (passed, in progress, late, not started) in one matrix. Export the whole thing to CSV for your own records or the registrar.

Submission review & flagging

Open any student's actual submitted workbook, not just their score. Flag one for a closer look or a follow-up conversation.

Per-student skill breakdown

Where a student is actually strong or weak (debt schedules, waterfall math, valuation bridges), not just a single pass/fail number.

Compare sections, copy assignments

Teaching more than one section? Compare performance across cohorts and copy an assignment list from one class to the next in a click.

Private instructor notes

Keep a running note on any student, visible only to instructors on that cohort: attendance, participation, a flag for office hours.

Automatic due-date reminders

Students who haven't finished an assignment get a reminder email as the due date approaches, nothing you have to send yourself.

03In Practice

How a section actually runs.

Three steps, none of which require your department to approve a purchase or your IT group to provision anything.

  1. 01

Create a class and share the code

Create a class from Classes (or add SheetRank as a Canvas assignment) and share the join code. Students who don't have an account yet create one and enter it once.

  2. 02

Assign a deal or course, set a due date

Students build the model in the same browser-based grid analysts use, and get graded the moment they submit. No scenario to run by hand, no answer key to guard.

  3. 03

Watch the gradebook fill itself in

Open any submission to see the actual workbook, not just a score, and flag anyone worth a closer look. Nothing here costs you anything, no matter how many students join.

04Questions

Frequently asked.

Do I ever pay anything, as the instructor?

No. Creating a class, assigning models, using the gradebook, and everything else in the instructor toolset is free: no seat minimum, no card on file, no department approval needed to try it with one section.

So how do students actually get access?

Each student subscribes individually to Pro, the same way they'd buy a required textbook or a case-prep course. It's never billed to you or your department. It's $35/month or $290/year, automatically discounted 50% (to $17.50/month or $145/year) the moment they verify a .edu email.

Can a student try it before paying?

Yes. Every account starts on Free: one full deal (Project Sunbelt), Beginner mode, and complete Academy access, so a student can build a real model and see exactly what your class will use before spending anything.

What if a student genuinely can't afford Pro?

The Free tier isn't a locked demo: it includes every Academy course with progress tracking and one complete graded deal, which is real coursework on its own, not just a teaser.

Does this work with Canvas?

Yes. SheetRank supports LTI 1.3, so students can launch an assignment directly from your Canvas course, already signed in, and deal scores post back to your Canvas gradebook automatically. Connecting your institution's Canvas is a one-time setup step our team does with your IT/LMS admin. Reach out and we'll walk you through it.

What if I want my department to cover the cost instead?

That's what Enterprise is for: a license for your whole program instead of per-student billing, with unlimited seats, an admin dashboard across every class, SAML SSO, and dedicated onboarding.

Is my roster or gradebook visible to other instructors?

No. A class's roster, gradebook, submissions, and your own private instructor notes are visible only to instructors on that specific cohort.

Create a class and send the join code.

Free for you regardless of section size. Students pay for their own access like a textbook, and can complete a full deal before deciding.
